Level 1

Foundations

Functional Extremities Chiropractor – Foundations introduces chiropractors to the basics of the FEC system. Doctors will learn how to assess extremities at a local level, and advance towards a more regionally-focused approach.

You will be taught specific muscle tests that correlate with specific joint complexes involving the 6 major extremity joints.

These consist of:

  • Upper Extremity – Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist
  • Lower Extremity – Hip, Knee, Ankle

You will also learn the 2 major Home Base tests – which will help to confirm your success in treating the functional weaknesses.

Once the doctor is able to assess for weaknesses, they will discover the correlating chiropractic adjustments that fix the discovered weak-links. which will then progress towards incorporating flows of assessment and treatment.

The goal*: to build a strong clinical foundation of manual muscle testing skills, proficiency in interpretation of assessments, and basic competency with extremity adjusting.

Level 2

Advanced

Functional Extremities Advanced builds on level 1, diving deeper into the six major joints with 2-3 additional adjustments for each complex. Our screening tests will expand to include more joints, such as the elbow, medial and lateral arches of the feet, and the subtalar joint.

This course will also introduce:

  • Soft tissue assessment and treatment that might compromise extremity function and influence strength patterns
  • Corrective exercises are also included to strengthen interconnectedness of the extremities

The goal*: to become a more comprehensive chiropractic clinician, able to confidently manage a broader range of patient cases and more complex conditions

Level 3

Complete

Functional Extremities Complete is designed to create a complete FEC chiropractor.  Level 3 introduces muscle tests for the cervical, lumbar, and thoracic spine, along with spinal adjusting techniques and their impact on extremities.

This course includes:

  • additional extremity tests and adjustments
  • scapula and cranial assessments, and their correlating adjustments.
  • Full body flows are established using the entirety of the FEC program.
  • Advanced patient management skills, such as treatment plans and follow-up protocols, are also covered.

The goal* is to become a fully proficient FEC chiropractor, capable of treating most conditions effectively. This will also create eligibility to become a certified Functional Extremities Chiropractor (cFEC).
