The Functional Extremities Chiropractor

Welcome to the Functional Extremities Chiropractor where we blend the art and science of extremity care. The FEC is an efficient and reliable system that identifies dysfunction in the extremity joints, which leads to guided chiropractic interventions.

It covers assessments, treatments, and reassessments for each area of the extremities, while highlighting the influence they have on the rest of the body. As you gain competency in each area, you will learn how they all combine into an efficient and effective flow that allows you to better assess and treat the body as a whole. This proficiency leads to better confidence in both you and your patients.

What is the FEC system?

FUNCTIONAL EXTREMITIES CHIROPRACTOR

Foundations

The Functional Extremities Chiropractor Foundations program introduces chiropractors to the fundamentals of the FEC system.

This teaches the nuts and bolts of the system to allow chiropractors to begin to implement extremity muscle testing and adjustments with a consistent, efficient, and repeatable approach.

Chiropractors are armed with knowledge, but often lack an effective way to systematically
combine this knowledge into their treatments. The FEC is designed to take what chiropractors
already know (skills like adjusting, muscle testing and soft tissue work) and combine it into a
treatment flow that doctors can reliably lean into when assessing and treating their patients. It
allows chiropractors to utilize all of their skills and deliver superior results to their patients.

More and more professions are utilizing joint manipulations as part of their treatments.
However, they are simply learning how to move joints, and often not very well. What they fail
to learn in these accelerated seminars is the “why”, “when” and “when not” to adjust joints.
This is a key component of the FEC – and one that can help distinguish us as chiropractors. The area of pain is not always the area of dysfunction. The FEC is designed to seek out areas of dysfunction and weakness.

Moving hypermobile joints can make symptoms worse. The FEC helps determine when to not
adjust area of the body. Simply adjusting every joint in the body can create sensory overload. The FEC helps doctors be specific with their interventions while constantly communicating with the body.

Trying to learn hours of information over a weekend does not lead to mastery of a topic. Nor
does watching seminar recordings and reading a stack of photocopied PDFs. Our course and
community offers a unique approach to help chiropractors truly learn and deploy the material
we teach.

Our videos offer multiple angles, whiteboard instructions, and detailed descriptions that make
you feel like you’re in the room with us. We highlight important points to be aware of and offer
tips to ensure your understanding.

Our supportive community is where the magic happens. We are actively answering your
questions, posting case studies for review, and constantly updating the material as you learn
along side other docs.

The goal of a seminar shouldn’t be to overwhelm you with material or bore you with stacks on
online notes. This delivery method is designed to drip feed you at your own pace. This allows you
to practice the material on your patients, and become proficient, before moving onto the next
module. We will be with you every step of the way!

Here is a quick demo of a SC joint adjustment we present in the FEC Foundations course.

This is a joint that is often overlooked but it plays a big role in the connection between the upper extremity and the rest of the body due to the proprioceptive feedback it provides.

So, ensuring it is moving properly is important for both extremity and spinal conditions.

Due to the tendency of people to roll their shoulders anteriorly (classic forward posture) this joint often gets compressed. For this reason, a “gap” adjustment can be quite effective.
